What to Expect
What should I expect during my first acupuncture session?
During your first session, we’ll start with a consultation to discuss your health concerns and goals. This is followed by the treatment itself, which involves inserting very fine needles into specific points on the body to promote healing and balance.
Does acupuncture hurt?
Most clients feel minimal discomfort as the needles are much thinner than those used for injections. You might feel a slight prick when the needle is inserted, or a unique sensation that can include tingling, warmth, or pressure.
How long does a typical massage or acupuncture session last?
A typical session can last from 45 to 90 minutes, depending on the treatment chosen. Your first visit may be longer due to the initial consultation.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Try to avoid eating a large meal just before your session, and ensure you’re hydrated but not overly full of liquids.
